Toddler rooms

An exciting place to learn
  • Toddler rooms

DSCF6002We ensure within our toddler unit we create a positive environment, whilst developing and maintaining positive partnerships with parents, carers and children, by welcoming all into our outstanding setting.

To guarantee the highest standard of care and attention, our child ratios are 1 adult to 4 toddlers.

We pride ourselves on the opportunities we deliver, ensuring all children gain the best foundations, preparing each child individually for their next transition in life.

Toddlers are keen to explore the world around them, therefore we ensure our rooms are an exciting place to come and learn through play and focused activities.

We monitor each child’s development progress by keeping up-to-date observations.

It’s important to encourage independence and educational skills as children develop. Our practitioners at Stone Eden work hard to create unique activities for the children such as exploring food, playing with new textures and using different materials.

  • At Stone Eden we spend lots of time outside no matter what the weather is like, or the day it is. We like to give children the opportunity to learn about growth and the importance of looking after things, therefore children love taking care of their special flowers, and love to take it in turns with their friends to give the flowers the daily nurturing they require, this is a very important job.

The rooms are very appealing, my child enjoys exploring and looks forward to doing lots of different activities in her sessions.

  • The children in Pre-school were very fortunate to see some Frogs today. They discussed how a Frog develops from a tadpole and how they feel and look. Next they will be looking at how a Caterpillar turns into a Butterfly.
  • Spring is here! Pre-school and Toddlers have been planting some beautiful flowers today on our orchard. The boys and girls have then made their own maps to find a fairy that has been hiding in the trees and searching for fairy mushrooms and acorns as clues. We have also been using the chalk boards to make marks and playing with the cars.
  • Wow look how well Dolphins can cut with scissors, a simple fine motor skills activity that keeps them busy for a long time and they were very proud of their achievments! Well done all ✂️✂️

  • Caterpillars have enjoyed washing the babies today. Staff and children interacted well and discussed the different body parts and facial features. The boys and girls pointed out where the eyes, nose and mouth were.
  • What a lovely day to be playing outside 🌞
  • Preschool really enjoyed time on the orchard this afternoon planting some plants in this glorious weather, spring is on its way. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
  • This morning in Caterpillars, Aimee carried out a baking activity with the children. The children were taking turns in adding the different ingredients to the bowl. They helped to mix the ingredients together and loved when it turned to dough
