We will help franchisees to work with their community as well as we do with ours, in all of the following ways:

    • Providing opportunities for apprentices that we nurture and develop, so that they grow to enjoy a good career in nursery care, administration or professional kitchens – depending on what role they joined us in.
    • Supporting local charities with fund-raising events and initiatives – such as Barnardo’s ‘Big Toddle’, cake stalls for local charities or the Stone Eden cookbook that we sell with all proceeds to a local hospice.
    • Taking part in local awards, nursery care and business events that demonstrate our active role in the area’s business community.
    • Providing flexibility for parents so that they get the childcare they need when they need it instead of forcing them into fixed slots, which means more locals can take on valuable roles in services like the police and the NHS with varied shift patterns.
    • Offering government funded and subsidised places to provide more universal access to excellent childcare in the locality.
    • Working with the local authorities and other champions of excellent childcare to continually adapt what we offer to meet the needs of the local community.
    • Holding regular ‘Open Days’ so that the local community can learn more about who we are, how we operate and what we stand for.
    • Regular submissions to the local print and online press that inform and celebrate the activities of our children, our team and our business.
    • Presenting a professional image and careful design of our nurseries so they fit in more sympathetically with their local surroundings.

A great relationship with your local community means your nursery will be more visible to the parents you want to attract.

  • Pre-school children have had a very exciting afternoon today. We have had some special visitors who have come to talk to all of the boys and girls about what Police Officers do and the importance of stranger danger. We also got to try on the different types of uniforms and have a look around the police van.
Thank you to Cumbria Police who have put some big smiles on our children's faces.

  • Ladybirds children couldn’t wait to make their friend some cupcakes for his 4th birthday today! This gave the children the opportunity to develop their physical and gross motor skills as well as maths. The boys and girls couldn’t wait for them to bake so that we could sing happy birthday. 🎂
  • Special delivery posted today 🎄🎅🏻
  • Don't forget that we have a bake sale in the baby unit entrance with lots of tasty treats still available for a Friday treat. All donations are going to Children in need 2018.
Photos of all our children dressed up to follow this afternoon.
  • The business owners David and Jenn, have recently been to visit Stone Eden in Guangzhou, China to conduct the second support visit. Stone Eden China is a beautiful new setting which is providing many of the local children with high quality British standard childcare. We will be developing a partnership with this setting and hope to share letters and pictures from Stone Eden Carlisle over the coming months.
  • What a fantastic learning experience some of our apprentices (Declan, Megan and Gill) had on Monday, visiting the University of Cumbria. We had a full tour of the campus and were able to see the 'outdoor classroom' that is used for teaching sessions.

  • Yesterday the children in Turtles celebrated Diwali through making their own little lanterns. The children spread lots of glue and then placed different materials onto their lanterns to make them look beautiful and bright.
  • Pre-School have been playing in the water tray this morning and identifying letters in their names. This activity allowed them to develop their literacy skills whilst playing in the water tray.
